POLICY ON EYEGLASSES DURING SOCCER GAMES

ATTENTION: PARENTS AND COACHES

Please see our policy below regarding players wearing eyeglasses during soccer games.

Parents/guardians must sign a waiver understanding the risks associated with wearing glasses
.  Referees will be asking players for their waiver at the start of the game.  Not having this waiver signed and available to show will mean that the child cannot play with their glasses.  Coaches should carry blank copies of the waiver, or verify prior to the start of the season that a waiver is signed and on-hand.  Sport goggles are recommended.

For teams in the NRSL (U10-U14), the rules are the same for our home games, but for away games the NRSL policy states that safety or sport goggles must be worn in place of regular eyeglasses, or the player will be asked to play without his/her glasses.  It is always up to the discretion of the referee, however.  So, the referee in another town may not have an issue with it, or you may be asked to sign a waiver like we do here.  But, considering the physicality of the game at these older levels, it would probably by best to invest in a pair of sport goggles.  If you are the coach of a team in the NRSL, please carry blank waivers with you to our home games, so that the player of an opposing team can complete one, if necessary.
